THE WINDOM E-D-A HOLDS A BOARD MEETING TODAY.    THE AVERA MEDICAL CLINIC WILL REQUEST ASSISTANCE FROM THE E-D-A ON A POSSIBLE PROJECT.   THE BOARD WILL DISCUSS RENTAL RATES FOR THE RIVER BLUFF TOWNHOMES.  THERE WILL BE AN UPDATE ON A NEW SIGN FOR THE NORTH WINDOM INDUSTRIAL PARK.  THE BOARD WILL SPEND A PORTION OF THE MEETING IN CLOSED SESSION TO CONDUCT LAND NEGOTIATIONS. 
A REGULAR MEETING OF THE WINDOM SCHOOL BOARD IS BEING HELD TODAY.    FORMER BOARD MEMBER RICK FREDRICKSON WILL BE RECOGNIZED FOR HIS CONTRIBUTIONS.  THE ANNUAL Q-COMP REPORT WILL BE PRESENTED.  THE BOARD WILL CONSIDER THE HIRING OF AN INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT FIRM TO HANDLE THE PROCEEDS OF THE BUILDING BOND SALE.  THEY WILL CONSIDER CANDIDATES FOR AN APPOINTMENT TO FILL AN OPEN SEAT ON THE SCHOOL BOARD FOR THE REST OF THE YEAR.  FILING DATES WILL BE SET FOR THE FALL SCHOOL BOARD ELECTIONS.
THE LAKEFIELD SUMMERFEST IS BEING HELD THIS WEEK.    THE THEME IS “LIVING THE SWEET LIFE.”  THE MEDALLION HUNT BEGINS TODAY, AND RAFFLE TICKETS ARE ON SALE.  SUMMERFEST BUTTONS ARE AVAILABLE FOR $5.  EVENTS INCLUDE THE LITTLE MISS AND MISTER LAKEFIELD PAGEANT ON WEDNESDAY; A COMMUNITY PICNIC ON THURSDAY; FAMILY FUN NIGHT AT THE PARK AND THE V-F-W DANCE ON FRIDAY; AND ON SATURDAY, A GOLF TOURNAMENT, MUSIC IN THE PARK, THE GRAND PARADE, AN AUCTION, RAFFLE AND A STREET DANCE. 
THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION IS HOLDING AN OPEN HOUSE TODAY TO DISCUSS AN UPCOMING CONSTRUCTION PROJECT IN WATONWAN COUNTY.     THE PROGRAM WILL TAKE PLACE FROM 4:30 TO 6:30 TONIGHT IN THE COMMUNITY ROOM AT THE PRINCESS THEATRE IN ST. JAMES.  MINN-DOT WILL BE REVIEWING PLANS FOR CONSTRUCTION ON HIGHWAY 60 FROM ST. JAMES TO THE INTERSECTION WITH HIGHWAY 15.  THIS WILL BE A TWO-YEAR PROJECT.  13 MILES OF HIGHWAY 60 WILL BE RESURFACED, ALONG WITH SOME BRIDGE WORK. 
MORE AMERICAN RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVES ARE BEING HELD IN THE AREA.   TODAY, THERE WILL BE A RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVE AT THE SANBORN BALLROOM.  THE HOURS WILL BE FROM 1:00 UNTIL 7:00PM.  DONORS SHOULD WEIGH AT LEAST 110 POUNDS AND BE IN GOOD GENERAL HEALTH.  YOU WILL NEED TO SHOW IDENTIFICATION AT CHECK-IN.   HAVE SOMETHING TO EAT AND DRINK PLENTY OF WATER BEFORE DONATING BLOOD. 
 THE COTTONWOOD COUNTY SOLID WASTE DEPARTMENT IS HOLDING A HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE COLLECTION, AND RECYCLING OF APPLIANCES AND ELECTRONICS.   COLLECTIONS WILL TAKE PLACE ON TUESDAY AT THE JEFFERS HIGHWAY SHOP FROM 9:00 TO 10:00; AT THE STORDEN TOWNSHIP SHED FROM 11:00 TO NOON; AND AT THE WESTBROOK HIGHWAY SHOP FROM 2:00 TO 4:00 TUESDAY AFTERNOON.  COLLECTIONS WILL TAKE PLACE ON THURSDAY IN WINDOM AND MT LAKE.  THERE WILL BE A FEE TO RECYCLING APPLIANCES AND ELECTRONICS.
