THE WINDOM SCHOOL BOARD MEETS TODAY.    A PUBLIC HEARING WILL BE HELD ON AN APPLICATION FOR A RESIDENTIAL HOUSING TAX ABATEMENT.  THE BOARD WILL HEAR THE ANNUAL REPORT FROM THE Q-COMP PROGRAM.  THERE WILL BE AN UPDATE ON THE ELEMENTARY BUILDING PROJECT.  THE BOARD WILL CONSIDER A RECOMMENDATION TO HIRE A NEW HIGH SCHOOL PRINCIPAL.  THE BOARD WILL SCHEDULE A DATE FOR THE ANNUAL EVALUATION OF THE SUPERINTENDENT.  THE BOARD WILL HEAR AN UPDATE ON PLANNING FOR THE CAREER AND TECHNICAL EDUCATION PROJECT.   
 
COTTONWOOD COUNTY IS HOLDING A HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE COLLECTION.    THE COUNTY IS ALSO ACCEPTING ELECTRONIC ITEMS AND APPLIANCES FOR RECYCLING.  ITEMS MAY BE DROPPED OFF AT THESE LOCATIONS:  ON TUESDAY, AT THE JEFFERS HIGHWAY SHOP AT 9:00AM; AT THE STORDEN TOWN SHED AT 11:00; AND AT THE WESTBROOK HIGHWAY SHOP AT 2:00PM.  ON THURSDAY, ITEMS MAY BE DROPPED OFF AT THE MT LAKE HIGHWAY SHOP AT 10:00, AND AT THE WINDOM RECYCLING SHED AT 2:00.  THERE WILL BE A FEE TO RECYCLING HOUSEHOLD APPLIANCES, ELECTRONIC ITEMS, MATTRESSES, BOX SPRINGS, TIRES AND CAR SEATS.   
 
THE 2019 FULDA WOOD DUCK FESTIVAL IS BEING HELD THIS WEEK.    THE THEME IS “GROW WITH US.”  IT’S SPONSORED BY THE FULDA AREA COMMUNITY CLUB.  TODAY, THERE WILL BE A YOUTH TRACK MEET AT THE HIGH SCHOOL.  AMONG OTHER HIGHLIGHTS, ON WEDNESDAY, THERE WILL BE A SWIM MEET AND FAMILY OPEN SWIM.   ON THURSDAY, THE FULDA SCHOLARSHIP EVENT AND A BIG BAND CONCERT.  ON FRIDAY, HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE A COMMUNITY SUPPER, BINGO, SAND VOLLEYBALL, THE KIDDIE PARADE, DEDICATION OF THE DISC GOLF COURSE, A STREET DANCE AND FIREWORKS.  THERE WILL BE MORE ACTIVITIES SATURDAY AND SUNDAY.   
 
THE LAKEFIELD SUMMERFEST CELEBRATION IS BEING HELD THIS WEEK.   THE THEME IS “THERE’S NO PLACE LIKE HOME.”  THE MEDALLION HUNT BEGINS TODAY.  THERE WILL BE A FARMERS’ MARKET AT NORTH CITY PARK THIS AFTERNOON, AND A FREE YOGA CLASS AT THE PARK AT 5:45 THIS AFTERNOON.  A ‘500’ CARD TOURNAMENT WILL BE HELD AT 6:00 TONIGHT AT THE MULTI-PURPOSE BUILDING.   LATER IN THE WEEK, EVENTS WILL INCLUDE A PINOCHLE TOURNAMENT, THE LITTLE MISS AND MISTER LAKEFIELD PAGEANT, A COMMUNITY PICNIC, FAMILY FUN NIGHT ON FRIDAY, AND A FULL DAY OF ACTIVITIES ON SATURDAY.
