THE 85TH ANNUAL MT LAKE POW-WOW CELEBRATION CONTINUES TODAY AND TOMORROW.    TODAY, THERE WILL BE FOOD STANDS AND COMMERCIAL STANDS IN THE CITY PARK.  THE PETTING ZOO OPENS AT NOON.  THE BOOSTER CLUB DUNK TANK WILL BE OPEN FROM 2:00 UNTIL 5:00, AND AFTER THE PARADE.  THE MIDWAY OPENS AT 2:00.  THERE WILL BE A DANCE PERFORMANCE AT THE BAND SHELTER.  THE GRAND PARADE BEGINS AT 7:00 ON 3RD AVENUE.  AFTER THE PARADE, THERE WILL BE LIVE PERFORMANCES AT THE BAND SHELTER.   
 
THE WINDOM COMMUNITY CENTER COMMISSION WILL MEET AT 5:30 THIS AFTERNOON.   MEMBERS WILL REVIEW RENTAL SURVEYS FROM A RECENT WEDDING AND TWO GRADUATIONS.  THE COMMISSION WILL DISCUSS AN ON-LINE MARKETING CAMPAIGN.   THEY WILL CONSIDER OFFERING A REFERRAL BONUS FOR BRINGING NEW EVENTS TO THE FACILITY.  A LIST OF SCHEDULED EVENTS WILL BE REVIEWED.  THE MONTHLY FINANCIAL REPORT WILL BE PRESENTED.  THERE WILL BE AN UPDATE ON STAFFING.   
 
ST. JAMES WILL HOLD ITS 44TH ANNUAL RAILROAD DAYS CELEBRATION THIS WEEK.   ON TUESDAY, THE V-F-W WILL HOLD A BEER TASTING AND SILENT AUCTION.  ADVANCE TICKET SALES WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR RAILROAD DAYS BUTTONS AND RAFFLE TICKETS.   ON WEDNESDAY, THERE WILL BE A DOG SHOW AT THE DOG PARK.  THURSDAY’S EVENTS WILL INCLUDE THE RAIL RUN, WITH WALKING AND RUNNING EVENTS.  ON FRIDAY, THERE WILL BE A GOLF OUTING, A PORK CHOP SUPPER, AND ENTERTAINMENT AT THE EAGLES CLUB.   
 
A MEETING OF THE COTTONWOOD COUNTY BOARD WILL BE HELD AT 8:00 TUESDAY MORNING AT THE COUNTY COURTHOUSE IN WINDOM.    THIS WILL BE A WORK-SESSION.  TOPICS WILL INCLUDE TECHNOLOGY ISSUES; BUILDING AND SPACE NEEDS; THE WHEELAGE TAX; AND A POSSIBLE LOCAL OPTION SALES TAX.  A REGULAR MEETING WILL BE HELD AT 5:15 TUESDAY AFTERNOON.   THE BOARD WILL APPROVE STATE FUNDING FOR THE SEPTIC SYSTEM LOAN PROGRAM.  INFORMATION WILL BE PRESENTED ON A CULVERT REPLACEMENT PROJECT.   THE COUNTY BOARD OF APPEAL AND EQUALIZATION WILL BE HELD AT 6:00 TUESDAY EVENING.     
 
THE JACKSON COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS WILL MEET AT 9:00 TUESDAY MORNING IN THE BOARD ROOM AT THE COUNTY COURTHOUSE IN JACKSON.    THE BOARD WILL CONSIDER A DESIGNATION TO MAKE ALL COUNTY BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS TOBACCO-FREE.  THE BOARD MAY CALL FOR BIDS ON A CULVERT REPLACEMENT PROJECT.  THE BOARD WILL REVIEW A REVISED AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY OF JACKSON FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICES.  THE BOARD WILL SPEND A PORTION OF THE MEETING IN CLOSED SESSION TO CONSIDER OFFERS FOR THE PURCHASE OF REAL ESTATE.   
 
THE MURRAY COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS WILL MEET AT 8:30 TUESDAY MORNING AT THE COUNTY GOVERNMENT BUILDING IN SLAYTON. THERE WILL BE A REPORT FROM THE COUNTY RECORDER’S OFFICE.  A PRESENTATION WILL BE GIVEN BY THE BUFFALO RIDGE DRUG TASK FORCE.  THE BOARD WILL OPEN BIDS FOR A BRIDGE REPLACEMENT PROJECT IN LIME LAKE TOWNSHIP.  THE BOARD WILL REVIEW AN AMENDMENT TO THE MEDICAL PLANS OFFERED THROUGH THE EMPLOYEE INSURANCE PLAN.  THERE WILL BE A REPORT FROM THE LICENSE CENTER.
