A MEETING OF THE COTTONWOOD COUNTY BOARD WILL BE HELD AT 8:00 THIS MORNING AT THE COUNTY COURTHOUSE IN WINDOM.    THIS WILL BE A WORK-SESSION.  TOPICS WILL INCLUDE TECHNOLOGY ISSUES; BUILDING AND SPACE NEEDS; THE WHEELAGE TAX; AND A POSSIBLE LOCAL OPTION SALES TAX.  A REGULAR MEETING WILL BE HELD AT 5:15 TUESDAY AFTERNOON.   THE BOARD WILL APPROVE STATE FUNDING FOR THE SEPTIC SYSTEM LOAN PROGRAM.  THE COUNTY BOARD OF APPEAL AND EQUALIZATION WILL BE HELD AT 6:00 TUESDAY EVENING.     
 
THE JACKSON COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS WILL MEET AT 9:00 THIS MORNING IN THE BOARD ROOM AT THE COUNTY COURTHOUSE IN JACKSON.    THE BOARD WILL CONSIDER A DESIGNATION TO MAKE ALL COUNTY BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS TOBACCO-FREE.  THE BOARD MAY CALL FOR BIDS ON A CULVERT REPLACEMENT PROJECT.  THE BOARD WILL REVIEW A REVISED AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY OF JACKSON FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICES.  THE BOARD WILL SPEND A PORTION OF THE MEETING IN CLOSED SESSION TO CONSIDER THE PURCHASE OF REAL ESTATE.   
 
THE MURRAY COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS WILL MEET AT 8:30 THIS MORNING AT THE COUNTY GOVERNMENT BUILDING IN SLAYTON. THERE WILL BE A REPORT FROM THE COUNTY RECORDER’S OFFICE.  A PRESENTATION WILL BE GIVEN BY THE BUFFALO RIDGE DRUG TASK FORCE.  THE BOARD WILL OPEN BIDS FOR A BRIDGE REPLACEMENT PROJECT IN LIME LAKE TOWNSHIP.  THE BOARD WILL REVIEW AN AMENDMENT TO THE MEDICAL PLANS OFFERED THROUGH THE EMPLOYEE INSURANCE PLAN.  THERE WILL BE A REPORT FROM THE LICENSE CENTER.  
 
THE 85TH ANNUAL MT LAKE POW-WOW CELEBRATION CONTINUES TODAY.    FROM NOON TO 2:00, THERE WILL BE A DRAWING EVERY HALF-HOUR FOR FREE MIDWAY TICKETS.  THIS IS FOR BOYS AND GIRLS 10-AND-YOUNGER; YOU MUST BE PRESENT TO WIN.  THE KID’S PEDAL TRACTOR PULL WILL BE HELD AT 3:00 ON 10TH STREET.  FIRE DEPARTMENT WATER FIGHTS WILL BE HELD ON 10TH STREET AT 5:30.  THERE WILL BE AN OPEN-MIC TALENT SHOW ON THE BAND SHELTER AT 5:00, ALONG WITH THE “STARING CONTEST.”  LIVE MUSIC WITH THE JEREMY POLAND BAND AT THE BAND SHELTER AT 7:00.   THE RAFFLE DRAWING WILL TAKE PLACE AT ABOUT 9:15 THIS EVENING.   
 
THE WINDOM CITY COUNCIL MEETS AT 6:30 THIS EVENING AT THE CITY HALL COUNCIL CHAMBERS.  A PUBLIC HEARING WILL BE HELD ON THE CEMSTONE “TIF” DISTRICT.  THE COUNCIL WILL CONSIDER APPROVING THE MODIFIED ‘TIF’ PLAN.  THE 2018 CITY AUDIT REPORT WILL BE PRESENTED.  THE COUNCIL WILL REVIEW A DEVELOPMENT AGREEMENT WITH HERITAGE L-L-C AND McMEREDITH DEVELOPMENT FOR A MARKET-RATE APARTMENT BUILDING.  THE COUNCIL WILL REVIEW AN AGREEMENT FOR THE ELECTRIC DEPARTMENT TO OFFER AN APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM.   
 
THE HERON LAKE-OKABENA SCHOOL BOARD MEETS TONIGHT.    A NUMBER OF PERSONNEL MATTERS WILL BE HANDLED.   THE BOARD WILL AUTHORIZE THE DISTRICT TO BORROW MONEY TO MEET CASH-FLOW NEEDS.  A DISTRICT LITERACY PLAN WILL BE APPROVED.  AN AGREEMENT FOR SERVICES WILL BE APPROVED WITH GREATER MN FAMILY SERVICES.  THE SUPERINTENDENT WILL HAVE A REPORT ON SUMMER SCHOOL.   THE FACILITIES COMMITTEE WILL HAVE AN UPDATE ON BUILDING REPAIR PROJECTS. 
 
ST. JAMES WILL HOLD ITS 44TH ANNUAL RAILROAD DAYS CELEBRATION THIS WEEK.    TODAY, THE ST. JAMES V-F-W WILL HOLD A BEER TASTING AND SILENT AUCTION FROM 5:30 TO 8:00PM.  DURING THAT SAME TIME, ADVANCE TICKET SALES WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR RAILROAD DAYS BUTTONS AND RAFFLE TICKETS.  RAILROAD DAYS WILL CONTINUE WITH MORE ACTIVITIES FROM WEDNESDAY THROUGH NEXT SUNDAY.   
 
 
SPRINGFIELD IS HOLDING THE “KID’S PARTY IN THE PARK” THIS WEEK.     THE PARTY WILL TAKE PLACE IN RIVERSIDE PARK THIS FRIDAY AND SATURDAY.   WRISTBANDS MAY BE PURCHASED IN ADVANCE THROUGH WEDNESDAY.  THE ADVANCE SALE PRICE IS $25; THE PRICE IS $35 AT THE GATE THE DAY OF THE EVENT.  ADVANCE WRISTBANDS MAY BE PURCHASED AT ALL SPRINGFIELD FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS, THE SPRINGFIELD MARKET, RUNNING’s AND EXPRESSWAY.  YOU MUST BE 18 OR OLDER TO PURCHASE WRISTBANDS.  MORE INFORMATION IS AVAILABLE ON FACEBOOK.
