Amateur Baseball Update

 

THE BRACKETS ARE SET FOR THE STATE CLASS ‘C’ AMATEUR BASEBALL TOURNAMENT. 
 
GAMES WILL BE PLAYED IN DELANO AND MAPLE LAKE, STARTING THIS FRIDAY.   GAMES WILL TAKE PLACE OVER THE NEXT THREE WEEKENDS, WITH THE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME BEING PLAYED ON LABOR DAY. 
 
THE TOURNAMENT IS SINGLE-ELIMINATION.  TEAMS THAT FINISHED 1ST IN THEIR REGION RECEIVE A BYE IN THE FIRST ROUND.   
 
CHECKING FIRST-ROUND MATCHUPS FOR AREA TEAMS: 
 
ON SATURDAY, THE LUVERNE REDBIRDS WILL FACE THE CARVER BLACK SOX. 
THE SLEEPY EYE INDIANS WILL PLAY THE COKATO KERNELS 
AND THE HADLEY BUTTERMAKERS WILL MEET THE COLOGNE HOLLANDERS.   
 
ON SUNDAY, THE STARK LONGHORNS WILL FACE THE WATKINS CLIPPERS. 
 
FOR TEAMS RECEIVING BYES IN THE FIRST ROUND: 
 
ON SATURDAY, AUGUST 24TH, THE FAIRMONT MARTINS WILL PLAY THE WINNER OF A 1ST-ROUND GAME BETWEEN THE LAKE CITY SERPENTS AND THE FORT RIPLEY REBELS. 
 
ON SUNDAY, AUGUST 25TH, THE NEW ULM BREWERS WILL FACE THE WINNER OF A 1ST-ROUND GAME BETWEEN THE BUCKMAN BILLY GOATS AND THE STEWARTVILLE SHARKS.
