THE WINDOM ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY HOLDS A BOARD MEETING AT NOON TODAY AT THE CITY HALL COUNCIL CHAMBERS.    THERE WILL BE AN UPDATE ON A RECENT MEETING HELD TO DISCUSS CHILD-CARE NEEDS IN THE AREA.    THE BOARD WILL HEAR AN UPDATE ON THE COMMERCIAL REHAB PROGRAM.  DISCUSSION WILL BE HELD ON A POSSIBLE HOUSING DEVELOPMENT ON 17TH STREET.   THE BOARD WILL DISCUSS THE CEMSTONE REDEVELOPMENT AREA.  THE E-D-A MAY GO INTO CLOSED SESSION TO DISCUSS LAND NEGOTIATIONS FOR LOTS AT THE NORTH WINDOM INDUSTRIAL PARK. 
 
A RE-SCHEDULED “NIGHT TO UNITE” PROGRAM WILL BE HELD IN WINDOM TODAY FROM 5:00 TO 7:00PM.  THE WINDOM CHAMBER WILL BE HAVING A COOKOUT WITH BURGERS AND HOT DOGS.  THE CHAMBER WILL ALSO HOLD THE ANNUAL ICE CREAM SOCIAL.  AMONG OTHER ACTIVITIES, THERE WILL BE ENTERTAINMENT WITH A D-J.  VARIOUS CHILDREN’S ACTIVITIES WILL BE SPONSORED BY LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS.  A VEHICLE FAIR WILL BE HELD WITH VEHICLES FROM LAW ENFORCEMENT, THE FIRE DEPARTMENT AND AMBULANCE SQUAD.  THE POLICE DEPARTMENT WILL HAVE A DEMONSTRATION WITH THE NEW K-9 DOG.   
 
A REGULAR MEETING OF THE WINDOM SCHOOL BOARD WILL BE HELD AT 6:30 THIS EVENING AT THE CITY HALL COUNCIL CHAMBERS.    THERE WILL BE AN UPDATE ON THE BUILDING PROJECT.  THE BOARD WILL REVIEW A PROPOSED SETTLEMENT FOR A NEW 2-YEAR MASTER TEACHERS’ CONTRACT.  THE CONTRACT MAY BE APPROVED.  A NEW MIDDLE-HIGH SCHOOL HANDBOOK WILL BE APPROVED FOR THE UPCOMING SCHOOL YEAR.  THE WINDOM E-D-A WILL HAVE A REQUEST INVOLVING THE POSSIBLE SALE OF PROPERTY FOR HOUSING DEVELOPMENT.  THE BOARD WILL GO INTO CLOSED SESSION TO DISCUSS THE EVALUATION OF THE SUPERINTENDENT.  
 
THE MARTIN COUNTY FAIR IS TAKING PLACE AT THE FAIRGROUNDS IN FAIRMONT.    TODAY IS AN ENTRY DAY.   THE ENTERTAINMENT LINEUP WILL INCLUDE THE JOHNNY HOLM BAND ON TUESDAY.   WEDNESDAY’S EVENTS INCLUDE FARM FAMILY OF THE YEAR RECOGNITION, AND MUSIC WITH CHRIS HAWKEY.   ON THURSDAY, SINGER TYLER RICH WILL BE PERFORMING.  FRIDAY IS SENIOR CITIZENS’ DAY.  THERE WILL BE MUSICAL PERFORMANCES IN THE COUNTY ARENA AND THE BEER GARDEN.  ON SATURDAY, THE ‘BEER AND BACON’ FEST WILL BE HELD AT THE ARENA.  THE BAND ‘SAWYER BROWN’ WILL BE PLAYING IN THE PARK.  THE FAIR WILL CONTINUE THROUGH NEXT SUNDAY.   
 
MORE AMERICAN RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVES ARE BEING HELD IN THE AREA.  TODAY, A BLOOD DRIVE WILL BE HELD AT THE WALNUT GROVE COMMUNITY CENTER WITH HOURS FROM 1:00 UNTIL 6:00PM.  ON TUESDAY, THERE WILL BE A BLOOD DRIVE AT THE MAYO CLINIC HEALTH SYSTEM IN SPRINGFIELD FROM 10:00 UNTIL 4:00PM.  ON WEDNESDAY, A BLOOD DRIVE WILL BE HELD AT THE FULDA COMMUNITY CENTER FROM 1:00 UNTIL 7:00PM.  ON THURSDAY, THERE WILL BE A BLOOD DRIVE AT THE CHRIST LUTHERAN CHURCH IN SLAYTON FROM 1:00 UNTIL 7:00.  ALL BLOOD TYPES ARE NEEDED. 
 
THE 2019 MURRAY COUNTY FAIR IS TAKING PLACE THIS WEEK AT THE FAIRGROUNDS IN SLAYTON.   TUESDAY IS AN ENTRY DAY.  ON WEDNESDAY, THERE WILL BE A BEAN-BAG TOURNAMENT AND MUSIC IN THE BEER GARDEN.  THURSDAY’S LINEUP INCLUDES A RIBEYE SANDWICH SUPPER, THE GREAT PLAINS TRACTOR PULL AND THE ‘SUMMER FUN’ PARTY.  ON FRIDAY, THERE WILL BE A PORK LOIN SUPPER, STOCK CAR RACING AND FREE MUSIC.   THE MURRAY COUNTY FAIR CONTINUES SATURDAY WITH THE PRAIRIE DAYS PARADE IN DOWNTOWN SLAYTON, LIVE MUSIC, AND THE ENDURO CAR RACE IN THE GRANDSTAND.
