THE WINDOM E-D-A HOLDS A BOARD MEETING AT NOON TODAY AT THE CITY HALL COUNCIL CHAMBERS.  THERE WILL BE A REPORT ON THE STATE ‘CAREER FORCE’ PROGRAM.  FURTHER DISCUSSION WILL BE HELD ON CHILD-CARE NEEDS.  THE BOARD WILL REVIEW GUIDELINES FOR THE COMMERCIAL REHAB PROGRAM.  TWO APPLICATIONS WILL BE CONSIDERED.  THERE WILL BE AN UPDATE ON TWO GRANT APPLICATIONS, SEEKING FUNDING FOR THE CEMSTONE REDEVELOPMENT AREA.  A REPORT WILL BE PRESENTED ON A RECLAMATION PLAN FOR SOUTH COTTONWOOD LAKE. 
 
THE WINDOM POLICE DEPARTMENT HAS RELEASED INFORMATION ON NEW FELONY CHARGES BEING FILED AGAINST SEVERAL INDIVIDUALS.    THE CHARGES STEM FROM A STING OPERATION THAT WAS CONDUCTED EARLIER THIS YEAR.  AS PART OF THAT INVESTIGATION, FELONY CHARGES WERE FILED AGAINST THREE PEOPLE FOR SOLICITING CHILDREN TO ENGAGE IN SEXUAL CONDUCT OR COMMUNICATING SEXUALLY EXPLICIT IMAGES TO CHILDREN.  CHARGES WERE FILED AGAINST DALE ROSENBERG OF LITCHFIELD, SCOTT HERREN OF CEYLON AND KEVIN SOUKSAVATH OF WORTHINGTON.  SEPARATE FELONY CHARGES HAVE BEEN FILED AGAINST WILLIAM BARLOW OF WINDOM FOR POSSESSION OF PORNOGRAPHIC MATERIALS ON A COMPUTER.   
 
THE COTTONWOOD COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY HOLDS ITS ANNUAL FALL FUND-RAISER TODAY AT THE COUNTY MUSEUM ON 4TH AVENUE IN WINDOM.    SERVING WILL BE FROM 4:30 UNTIL 7:00PM.  THE MENU WILL FEATURE ROAST BEEF ON A BUN, CHIPS, BEANS, COLESLAW AND DESSERT BARS.  THE COST IS $8 OR $5 FOR CHILDREN 10-AND-YOUNGER.  EXTRA SANDWICHES ARE AVAILABLE FOR $3.  CARRY-OUTS WILL BE AVAILABLE.  PEOPLE ATTENDING THE FUND-RAISER MAY VISIT THE LARGE EXHIBIT HALL, AND VIEW ARTWORK BY ROBERT REMICK IN THE REMICK GALLERY.   
  
THE WINDOM SCHOOL BOARD HOLDS A REGULAR MEETING AT 6:30 THIS EVENING AT THE CITY HALL COUNCIL CHAMBER.    THE BOARD WILL CONSIDER SEVERAL CHANGE ORDERS FOR THE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL BUILDING PROJECT.  A NUMBER OF POLICY UPDATES WILL BE APPROVED.   THERE WILL BE A PRESENTATION ON A PROPOSED BAND AND CHOIR TRIP.  THE BOARD WILL CONSIDER HIRING A PROJECT MANAGEMENT FIRM FOR THE RENOVATIONS TO THE HIGHLAND SCHOOL BUILDING.  THE ELEMENTARY PRINCIPAL WILL REPORT ON WINDOM ELEMENTARY RECEIVING A STATE AWARD.                     
 
THIS IS HOMECOMING WEEK AT HERON LAKE-OKABENA HIGH SCHOOL.  THE HOMECOMING CORONATION WILL TAKE PLACE AT 7:00 TONIGHT AT THE HIGH SCHOOL IN OKABENA.  THE THEME IS “CASINO.”  THE QUEEN CANDIDATES ARE KAILEE HABERMAN, STACY NAJERA-RUIZ, MADDIE REUSCH, BECCA SALENTINY AND CHEYLISKA SCHAFFER.   THE KING CANDIDATES ARE GARRETT DRONEN, DRYSTAN FREKING, BRANDON HINKELDEY, DYLAN JOHANNING AND ETHAN UNTIEDT.  THERE WILL BE DAILY DRESS-UP THEMES.  THE PARADE, PEPFEST, HOMECOMING FOOTBALL GAME AND THE DANCE WILL ALL TAKE PLACE ON FRIDAY.   
 
THE COTTONWOOD COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS WILL HOLD A WORK-SESSION AT 9:00 TUESDAY MORNING IN THE BOARD ROOM AT THE COUNTY COURTHOUSE IN WINDOM.   BOARD MEMBERS WILL BE DISCUSSING A PROPOSED 2020 COUNTY BUDGET.  A FINAL COUNTY BUDGET WILL BE ADOPTED AND THE FINAL 2020 PROPERTY TAX LEVY WILL BE CERTIFIED IN DECEMBER.
