Amateur Baseball Update – 8-8-20

AMATEUR BASEBALL:

Region 13-C:   Final Four round of playoffs  – best 2-out-of-3 games

Friday:  Fairmont Martins 19, Milroy Irish 11.

Fairmont wins the series 2 games to none and qualifies for the State Class “C” Amateur Baseball tournament.

Today:  Luverne Redbirds at Hadley Buttermakers.  Hadley leads series 1 game to none.   If a 3rd game is needed, it would be played at Luverne on Sunday.

A final playoff series will be played next week to determine seeding for the State Tournament.  

Region 2-C:

1st round Friday night:

Leavenworth Orioles 8, Fairfax Cardinals 7

Gibbon Reds 2, Searles Grizzlies 0

Stark Longhorns 4, Courtland Cubs 0

Sleepy Eye Indians 11, Essig Bluejays 10

A round of games in the losers’ bracket will be played on Sunday.

The Essig Bluejays wil play the loser of the Springfield/Leavenworth game

The Fairfax Cardinals will play the loser of the Hanska/Sleepy Eye game

The Searles Grizzlies will play the loser of the Stark/New Ulm game.
