Local Sports Update- Amateur Baseball 8-13-20

AMATEUR BASEBALL: 

 

Region 13-C:   A final playoff series is being held to determine seeding for State Tournament.   Best 2-games-out-of-3 

 

Championship Series:   Hadley Buttermakers vs Fairmont Martins.  Both teams advance to state.  Winner of the series 

      is the #1 seed from the Region.  Loser is the #2 seed. 

 

Weds, Aug 12: 

   Fairmont Martins 12, Hadley Buttermakers 0.   Fairmont leads series 1 game to none. 

      Game #2 Saturday Afternoon at Hadley. 

 

3rd Place Series:   Luverne Redbirds vs Milroy Irish.   Winner advances to State as the #3 seed out of the region.  Loser is eliminated. 

 

Weds, Aug 12: 

Luverne Redbirds 6, Milroy Irish 1.   Luverne leads series 1 game to none. 

      Game #2 Friday evening at the Irish Yard. 

 

 

Region 2-C:   Double-elmination format continues.  3 teams from the Region will advance to the State Class C Tournament, starting August 22nd.

  Lamberton Long Sox 6, Springfield Tigers 2    (Lamberton clinches berth in State Tournament) 

  New Ulm Brewers 5, Hanska Lakers 2              (New Ulm clinches berth in State Tournament.
