Local Sports Update – Mon, Aug 10

LOCAL SPORTS   —-   amateur baseball    8/10/20 

 

Region 13-C:   Final Four round of playoffs  – best 2-out-of-3 games 

 

Friday:  Fairmont Martins 19, Milroy Irish 11. 

Fairmont wins the series 2 games to none and qualifies for the State Class “C” Amateur Baseball tournament. 

 

Saturday:  Luverne Redbirds 8, Hadley Buttermakers 2.     Series tied 1 game each. 

 

Sunday:  Hadley Buttermakers 6, Luverne Redbirds 0      

    Hadley wins series 2 games to 1 and qualifies for the State Tournament.    

 

A final playoff series will be played this week to determine seeding for the State Tournament.   Fairmont and Hadley will meet, with the winner receiving the #1 seed out of the Region, and the loser taking the #2 seed.   

Milroy and Luverne will play a series, with the winner going to State as the 3rd place team from the Region.
