TODAY, January 28th is National LEGO DAY. Legos, the colorful plastic bricks, have entertained children and adults around the world for nearly 70 years. Legos are used to make toy buildings, vehicles, creatures, machines, anything imaginable. That means endless creative ability and play. National LEGO Day celebrates these incredibly ingenious toys.  So today… Take a moment today to let your imagination run wild with schemes and glorious inventions of what you have built throughout your life and what you could do now with your adult mind and abilities!!! Watch the LEGO movie just because you can… Just for today… Enjoy the memories of the endless hours of fun and of the build you had  and not of that one instant of pain and agony of when you  stepped on them…Save that for tomorrow.

Local Knights of Columbus Council #1608 will be Sponsoring their Annual Youth Free Throw Championship this weekend. Sunday January 30th Boys and Girls ages 9 to 14 are encouraged to participate in the local level of competition for the 2022 Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship. Boys and Girls will compete in their respective age divisions. The local competition will be held in the Windom High School New Gym. Sign up begins at 1pm and the competition will start soon after.

All contestants on the local level are recognized for their participation in the event, with local champions receiving a trophy representing their accomplishment. Looking for some fun instead of just staring out your window watching the cold wintery days and nights go by? Prairie Arts Continuum (PAC) is holding auditions for a comedic mystery- MUMBO JUMBO.  Auditions will be held on Tuesday February 1st and Thursday February 3rd in the Library at BARC at 7:00pm. Live performances will be held in the BARC Theatre April 1st through the 3rd.

MUMBO JUMBO will be directed by Tim Jenniges with April Thomas as the Assistant Director. The show calls for 8 men and 7 women.

If performing isn’t your cup of tea but you want to be involved behind the scenes- volunteers are needed for construction, painting, or moving sets- Locating, sewing or pressing costumes- Publicity-  locating props and/or monitoring props during the show and ushering. You are encouraged to come to the auditions or contact Project Director Shelley Lange at 507-830-0022.
