Minnesota State Patrol reported an injury accident on March 9th at approximately 1 pm at the intersection of Hwy 60/mile post 40 (by Subway). A Ford F350 driven by a 17-year-old Bingham Lake Male was westbound on HWY 60. A 16-year-old Female from Heron Lake driving a Ford C-Max was Southbound on 1st Street entering Westbound Highway 60, the two vehicles collided in the intersection. The 16-year-old female and her 17-year-old passenger were transported to Windom Area Hospital with non-life threating injuries. Outside Agencies assisting were Windom Police Department, Windom Ambulance, and Cottonwood County Sherriff’s Office.

Windom Police Department reported two traffic accidents on March 9th.

At 1:30 at the 400 block of 9th Street. A 2013 Ford Taurus was parked at the library. A 2009 Dodge Nitro parked next to the Taurus. The Dodge began to back up and hit the Taurus on the driver’s side rear bumper. Minor damages to both vehicles with no injuries.

At 3:30 pm officers were called to 1900 Rudy Lane. A 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee was pulling into the driveway and hit the garage. Minor damage was done to the parked car inside of the garage and to the garage door and also to the Cherokee. No injuries were reported.

Have you been looking for a fun and entertaining activity for the family? This weekend, The Windom Figure Skating Club presents their year-end ice show- Monsters Rink. This performance is directed by head coach Rashelle Weicherding, (WHY KER DING)Assistant Coaches Anne Greenway, Dana Anderson and Lisa Hoffman and assisted by several student coaches. It is a performance for all ages to enjoy! The Windom Skating Club is comprised of 80 students ages 3 to 18 years old. According to Board Member Bridget Hodkin, the Club started lessons in early October 2021 and started prepping for this wonderful performance in January. The show will be offered twice this weekend. A performance at 5pm on Saturday and a matinee performance at 2pm on Sunday. Tickets can be purchased at the door $8 for adults and $6 for students. Concessions will be available for purchase to enjoy while enjoying this fun family event. Flowers will also be available for purchase at the show as well. The Arena does have heat but you may want to bring a jacket and a blanket just in case. Don’t miss this opportunity to see Monsters Rink Live this weekend!

Mark your calendar for March 15th at 6pm. BARC (Business, Arts, and Recreation Center) will be sponsoring BINGO night! BINGO Night will be held in the BARC Library located at 1012 5th Ave. Doors open at 6pm and play begins at 6:30pm. Murray County Board of Commissioners will meet Tuesday March 15th at 8:30am in the Murray County Government Center. The Center is open to the public. If you would like to call in to listen to the meeting or join via zoom please find information on the Murray County home page website.
