The Odin Firemen’s Relief Association’s Annual Burger Fry and Ice Cream Sundae Benefit will be this Sunday June 12th from 10:30am to 1:30pm at the Odin City Hall. A free will donation will be collected. All funds from this benefit will be used to purchase two new defibrillators. Everyone is encouraged to come to Odin and enjoy good food, good company and to help with a great cause!

Windom Police Department had a report of theft at approximately 9 am on June 6th. A Mountain Lake resident reported that her wallet was stolen on June 4th at HyLife Foods during her work shift. She left her backpack in the locker room unsecured between 8 and 11:30pm after her break. She noticed her wallet was missing on the morning of the 6th. Total Loss is $137 plus driver’s license, various papers and Insurance cards.  Also, on the 6th at approximately 6:30pm a Windom Police Officer received a report of a theft that occurred at Windom Mini Storage. The complainants stated they had come to the storage unit around 6pm and saw that his lock was completely off and gone from the storage unit. They had called the owners of the storage property and were told that at 7pm on the 5th all locks were on the storage units. Items missing included a Welder, Wire feed Welder, Torch, and two oxygen tanks. Total value of stolen items $700.

Cottonwood County Sheriff’s Office reported an accident on Westgore Street in Storden. A 2009 GMC Sierra was backing out of a driveway and hit a parked 2008 Saturn Astra on the road. Minor damage to vehicles no injuries reported.

Red Rock Central School District Board of Education will be conducting a special meeting on Thursday June 9th at 3pm in Lamberton for the purpose of reviewing a proposed settlement agreement involving a District Student. The Board will meet in a closed session with its attorney to receive confidential legal advice regarding the proposed settlement and will then convene in an open session to take official action with respect to the proposal, if necessary.

Kickoff to Windom’s Riverfest Festivities had the community coming out for activities on the square and the Crowning of the 2022 Miss Riverfest The winner was Abbi Zieske of Windom daughter of Greg Zieske and Jessie Markus. Runner-up was awarded to Makenna McNamara of Windom, daughter of Ryan and Amy McNamara. According to Little Miss Riverfest Coordinator Ashley Johnson, they  had 14 participants with two escorts Collin Joyce and Lennon Shownecker. Little Miss Riverfest winner was Natalie Perez Morales daughter of Omar and Lillian Morales.
