Fulda Duck Days is in full waddle!!! Fulda is the “Home of the Wood Duck” due to the large number of colorful wood ducks that migrate through the region, and man-made nests attached to trees are common throughout the city. The annual Wood Duck Festival is taking place now until Sunday Wood Duck Festival features picnics, a parades, carnival, musical and talent performances in the park. There is just so much to do and see. Look for the KDOM Radio at the Parade on Saturday that starts at 6pm. Grand Marshalls for this year are Margaret Popp and Mavis Shipper. Shake your tail feathers with Waddalena and come on over to Fulda for fun food and entertainment!

Jackson County Sheriff Office reported on June 15th a deputy at approximately 8 am investigated a report at of burglary. At approximately 9am a Jackson County Deputy responded to a report of sheet metal on I-90 near Heron Lake exit. Several sheets of sheet metal were located and pushed off the road and DOT was called to assist. Deputies worked 3 different complaints throughout the afternoon dealing with mail scam, harassment via social media and investigated a report of fraud in Jackson. At approximately 5:30pm Deputies responded to a landlord/Tenant disturbance and in the evening deputies conducted a requested welfare check on an individual. After investigation it was found the person was experiencing a medical issue, and the Jackson Ambulance was paged to the scene.

There will be a Firearms Safety Training Classroom Class in St James- Monday, July 18th through Friday the 22nd from 6:30-9pm. A Field Day will be on Saturday July 23rd at 9am. You must be 11 years of age before July 18th in order to qualify to take the class. Jackson County BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS and the DRAINAGE AUTHORITY will meet Tuesday, June 21st at 8:30 A.M. in the Jackson County Courthouse, Commissioners Board Room located at 405 Fourth Street.

The Jackson County Board of Commissioners will hold a special work session meeting on Thursday June 23rd at 9am in the Jackson County Courthouse County Board Room located at 405 Fourth Street for the purpose of reviewing & discussing uses for Jackson County’s Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (SLFRF) provided through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA).
