Windom Police Department reported a 31-year-old male from Windom has charges pending for 4 counts of 2nd Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct-contact with a victim under the age of 14 years of age. Two counts were on or about April 16th, 2022, and two counts were between December 1st, 2021 and April 15th, 2022.

Mountain Lake Police Department had 14 reports On the 20th and 21st there were three separate incidents of missing children but all were found and safe. Officers handled a parking violation and assisted another agency with a welfare check. On the 23rd– an Officer took a report of a hit and run in the 1700 Block of 6th Ave a parked car was discovered to have the drivers side mirror knocked off. An officer conducted a welfare check and also checked on a suspicious person everyone was okay and a safe. On the 24th, Mt Lake Officer assisted DNR with a fishing violation. A 30-year-old male from Mt Lake was cited at the fishing pier off Golf Course Road. Later in the evening a 49-year-old male was cited for driving after revocation. On the 25th Officer assisted Cottonwood County Agency with a wrong way driver on Highway 60 near Bingham Lake they were unable to locate the driver driving East in the Westbound Lane. A 17 year old male from Windom was cited for Drivers License permit Violation Drugs 5th Degree and an officer assisted Minnesota State Patrol with a car vs deer accident at the intersection of HWY 60 and County Road 27E. On June 26th a Mountain Lake Officer started an investigation into a order for protection violation. Charges are pending on a 43-year-old male from Comfrey.

There will be a Firearms Safety Training Classroom Class in St James- Monday, July 18th through Friday the 22nd from 6:30-9pm. A Field Day will be on Saturday July 23rd at 9am. You must be 11 years of age before July 18th in order to qualify to take the class. Kiddie Peddle Pull and Parade are before the Independence Day Parade starting at 2:30. Family fun and games throughout the day with a fantastic display of fireworks lined up to explode after sundown. Small town, Big hometown celebration. Also on July 9th, starting at Noon is the Antique Tractor Pull. Okabena is where the action is going to be for the 4th of July. Be sure to watch for KDOM cruisin’ through the parade!!!
