Windom City Council met on July 5th in a Public hearing for Land Swap Tegels Park – with the sale of the Cemstone property to the EDA for development it was discussed the Cemstone property included the road into Tegels Park. Instead of the City needing to build a new road to access the park, it was decided to look at a land swap so the City would now own the road into Tegels Park in exchange for a small portion of shoreline that was next to the Cemstone area. This was approved by Park & Rec Commission and also approved by the DNA before it was bought before the Council. There were no public comments made and the exchange was approved. The Council set a Public Hearing on Vacation of Easement of 20 feet wide utilities easement for the property between the former Shopko and former Guardian Inn buildings which will the future site of the new Family Dollar store.  Tim Snyder was approved to be hired as the new Community Center Director and the Mayor appointed Dustin Harold to the Planning Commission. It was decided by the Council to start the August 2nd meeting at 7:30pm due to the Night to Unite City Celebration that takes place from 5-7 pm.
