August Weather Stats 9/1/22
The monthly weather statistics have been reported for the city of Windom in August. The information is compiled by a local weather observer and reported to the National Weather Service Office in Sioux Falls. The high temperature for the month was 98 degrees on August 3rd. The average high for the month was 81.1 degrees. The low temperature for August was 54 degrees on August 26th and August 30th. We received four and sixteen hundredths of an inch of precipitation with two and seventy one hundredths reported on one day, August 7th. We received about two and a quarter inch less this year than we did in 2021. For the year we are just over an inch behind last year.

Prairie Ecology Bus Center will be holding their 20th Annual Prairie Winds Kite Fly on Saturday September 10th from 10am to 4pm at the Jackson Municipal Airport in Jackson. Everyone of all ages are invited to come watch giant kites flown by pro kite flyers, Kite making stations for the kids and the ability to fly your own kite. There will also be door prizes, candy drops, kite giveaways, concessions for purchase, bubble stations and parachute races, there truly is something for all ages to enjoy. The first 120 kids through the door get a free bubble wand! Admission is FREE.
