It was a celebrated milestone for MVTV Wireless as they reached 7,000 members. MVTV Wireless main office is located in Granite Falls near the Minnesota West Campus but their service spans to Southwest Minnesota, Northwest Iowa and Southeast South Dakota. They serve over 25 Counties within Minnesota. According to Julie Foote, MVTV Marketing and Customer Support Manager, 85% of MVTV members have a township address but they are gaining a presence in small towns across Southwest Minnesota. Foote went onto say MVTV Wireless Internet is able to serve this massive area by partnering with local advocates, who are true champions, in each community. MVTV’s expansion often results from future customers calling them looking for a better Broadband experience. MVTV has been in business for the past 23 years. Foote concluded with saying their membership is always expanding and growing and if anyone would like more information, they can call 320-564-4807 or go to mvtvwireless.com. KDOM would like to congratulate MVTV for reaching this milestone.

MN Department of Natural Resources Conservative Officer Thor Nelson of New Ulm reported he received calls reporting the taking of protected species, ATV violations, requests for hunting law clarification, and concerns for sick/injured wildlife. Nelson spent the week working waterfowl, small-game, archery deer, fishing, ATV, boating, and invasive species enforcement activities. Open-water hunting opportunities are limited due to the Swan Lake drawdown and near-drought conditions, but hunters who accessed open water and scouted had good success.

In Windom, Conservative Officer Dustin Miller continued with field training of a COC over the past week. Miller has begun deer investigations and took enforcement action for a variety of angling violations. He worked a busy waterfowl opener, with a large amount of hunters within the Talcot WMA. Other hunters were contacted throughout the area and a large number of violations were discovered related to license and stamp issues. Boating violations were also encountered, with no PFDs and AIS problems. Violations for taking protected migratory bird were also addressed.

and in Jackson Conservative Officer Mike Gruhlke worked the waterfowl opener, archery deer, and small-game seasons. He noted good participation for the duck season and observed a few limits. The species most often found in the bag were teal, wood ducks, and mallards. Gruhlke also attended training at Camp Ripley.
