RRC State football QF recap

The Red Rock Central Falcons fall to Wheaton Herman Norcross Warriors by the score of 37-0.

First quarter started off great for the Falcons as the first play of the game was a fumble for WHN and RRC got the ball in Warrior Territory just seconds into the game.  Unfortunately for the Falcons, the Warriors have a great defense and got a 4th down interception and returned it back into RRC territory.  Falcons were able to turn them over on downs, but after another 3 and out, a muffed punt resulted in 6 for WHN.

The second quarter is where things went south for the RRC Falcons.  Wheaton Herman Norcross’ offense caught fire and everything was clicking for the Warriors.  RRC struggled to get the running game going in the first half.  The offense picked up a couple of completions and a first down before the end of the half for a little momentum, as well as a couple big interceptions in the redzone for the defense, but the Falcons trailed at halftime  31-0.

Second half started with the Falcons getting the ball deep in their own territory.  A tipped pass on a screen play resulted in a pick 6 for WHN and the second half was already off to a tough.  The falcons were never able to recover, although they continued to fight, the Warriors of WHN would continue to control the game and finished with a 37-0 victory and stay undefeated on the season.

Red Rock Central finishes the Season 8-4 and Section 3-9man champions.
